Poor man's house caught fire, loss worth Rs 1 lakh

 


Gumla-Ghaghra: There was a loss of about one lakh rupees due to fire in the house of Munna Oraon, resident of Kotamati Tangratoli of Ghaghra police station. The incident occurred around 8 am on Friday. In this regard, the head of the house, Munna Oraon and wife Lalita Devi told that her three children had gone to school, while one child was grazing cattle and mother Lalita, after giving food to the youngest four-year-old child at around 7 in the morning, went to work digging a well while her husband was away. Before that, Munna had come to a hotel in Ghaghra where he used to work every day. At around 8 o'clock in the morning, seeing smoke coming from Munna's house, people in the neighborhood thought that food might be being cooked, but when the smoke increased instead of decreasing, they feared something untoward and when they reached Munna's house, they saw that the house was on fire. It has been installed. An attempt was made to extinguish the fire by connecting a pipe to a nearby tank and with the help of sand that had fallen in Munna's house. Here the villagers had informed Munna over the phone about the fire in the house. By the time Munna reached his home on someone's bike, his wife had also arrived. Everyone together tried to control the fire but by then the wood used in the roof of the house had caught fire and due to the burning of the wood, the asbestos on the roof collapsed and the roof was damaged and the plow etc. kept in the room along with the paddy were burnt to ashes.
