Condition of those on hunger strike is serious, medical examination required : Dafadar Chowkidar Panchayat

 


Ranchi: As per the pre-announced program by Jharkhand State Dafadar Chowkidar Panchayat, indefinite hunger strike and dharna demonstration in front of Raj Bhawan (near Zakir Hussain Park), Ranchi, regarding 6 point demands is continuing for the seventh day today. It was presided over by State President Shri Krishna Dayal Singh and conducted by Lohardaga District President Shri Samshul Ansari. In the hunger strike, State President Krishna Dayal Singh, Shri Baleshwar Mahato, are on hunger strike since yesterday and Shri Parmeshwar Paswan, Giridih District and Pritam Kumar Paswan, Godda District and today Satya Narayan Sarkar of Maheshpur Police Station of Pakur District and Nimaichand Rajwar of Amalabad Police Station of Bokaro District are on hunger strike. Currently, there are 6 people on hunger strike and hundreds of Chowkidars are present with them. The condition of the hunger strikers remains critical. Mr. Singh said that the recruitment process is going on by publishing advertisements in all the districts of Jharkhand for vacant beats on the basis of retired Chowkidar, substitute Chowkidar and compassionate grounds. Mr. Singh has demanded from the Honorable Chief Minister of Jharkhand to immediately stop this recruitment process. Because according to the advertisement issued on the vacant beats of Chowkidars, the Honorable Jharkhand High Court has put a stay on the recruitment process in Saraikela Kharsawan and Giridih districts. Therefore, the advertisements issued in the districts for vacant posts of retired Chowkidar, substitute Chowkidar and compassionate grounds should be immediately cancelled.

                            Mr. Singh said that in the light of clause 2 (9) of Jharkhand Chowkidar Cadre Rules_ 2015, publishing advertisements for 100 to 120 residential houses without creating a new beat is a violation of these rules. Mr Singh has demanded from the Honorable Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Mr Hemant Soren, to immediately issue an ordinance in the light of the spirit of Article 16 (4) of the Indian Constitution to enable the retired Chowkidars to re-join the service and to appoint replacement Chowkidars as per the previous appointment process. The main demands of the hunger strike and dharna demonstration include ordering all Deputy Commissioners to make retired Chowkidaars join the service again, cancelling the advertisements issued for vacant posts on retired, substitute and compassionate grounds, ordering all Deputy Commissioners to appoint the dependents of retired Chowkidaars Dafadars before and after 01 January, 1990 as per the previous appointment process, immediately cancelling the illegal appointments made on vacant posts of Chowkidaars in Ramgarh district, issuing an ordinance to appoint retired and substitute Chowkidaars, appointing the dependents of retired Chowkidaars Dafadars on 31 December, 1989 in the light of the resolution passed by the Jharkhand Cabinet, adding grandsons and granddaughters to the dependents on compassionate grounds and giving 13 months' salary to Chowkidaars Dafadars like the police. The main participants in the indefinite hunger strike and sit-in demonstration were Mr. Nejawat Ansari, Tauheed Alam, Ashok Rai, Laxman Paswan, Rupan Paswan, Mahadev Paswan, Omprakash Rai, Anil Kujur, Mihir Mall, Fatik, Vasudev Paswan, Akash Kumar, Mall, Hedvi Mall, Praveen Mall, Pappu Kumar Rai, Anuj Kumar Rai, Krishna Yadav, Pappu Paswan, Guddu Paswan, Sabita Devi, Kamlesh Paswan, Raghunath Ram, Dilip Oraon, Gopal Paswan, Raj Kumar Oraon, Nand Kishore Ram, etc.
