Municipal Commissioner took positive initiative and ended the waterlogging

At present, there is news of relief in Radha Nagar and Shanti, but permanent solution is faraway

Ranchi: Municipal Commissioner Sandeep Singh inspected the condition of waterlogging in Shanti Nagar, Radha Nagar and Panchsheel Nagar along with the city manager, corporation engineer, zonal supervisor, ward supervisor and other workers. He found that the people living in these areas are facing many difficulties due to heavy waterlogging. In this regard, the Municipal Commissioner instructed the concerned engineers to clear the connecting drains and make a way for the flow of water. He also said that a permanent solution should be found to prevent waterlogging in the said area in future. The matter was that some bullies had encroached the land of the drain located in front of Panchsheel Nagar and built permanent houses and shops on it. Due to this, the flow of water was obstructed. The condition of the people of Radha Nagar and Shanti Nagar had become worse. It had become impossible for the people of this area to go to places ranging from ration to medicine, market to hospital.

After the matter came into the limelight, the city administration woke up and in a hurry, the city commissioner Sandeep Singh had to come to take stock of the situation. Till the time the matter did not come into the limelight, the situation was such that the city deputy administrator Ravindra Kumar was threatening the tenants of the vacant land that they should not create any obstruction in draining the vacant land. The tenants were scared of this. Now, when the city commissioner himself inspected the site, the truth came out. The common people of the area say that for the time being there is news of relief. But the way the water blockage is being removed, it is not a permanent solution. The permanent solution is miles away, to avoid such situations in future, the Municipal Corporation will have to free the drain built on non-cultivable land from encroachment. It should be known that the encroachment of the land of this drain has been confirmed by both Hehal Zone and City Planner.
