Ranchi: Four opencast mines of Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) – Magadh, Amrapali, North Urimari and Ashoka were awarded the prestigious 5-Star Rating at a grand Star Rating Award Ceremony for Coal and Lignite Mines.
The awards were presented by Hon’ble Minister of Coal and Mines, G. Kishan Reddy, Government of India and Minister of State for Coal and Mines, Govt of India, Satish Chandra Dubey in the august presence of Secretary of Coal, Vikram Dev Dutt, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Coal, Vismita Tej, Rupinder Brar, Chairman, Coal India Limited, PM Prasad, CMD, CCL, Nilendu Kumar Singh, Director Technical (Planning/Projects), CCL, Satish Jha, Director Technical (Operations), Harish Duhan and other dignitaries.
The 5-Star Rating reflects the excellence of sustainable mining practices, compliance of environmental norms, contribution to social and economic development by these mines. This recognition is a testimony to CCL's commitment towards responsible mining and its efforts towards prioritizing environmental protection and community welfare.
On the occasion, Coal Minister G. Kishan Reddy lauded CCL's efforts and emphasized the importance of sustainable mining practices for the nation's energy security. Minister of State for Coal and Mines Satish Chandra Dubey emphasized the role of innovation and best practices in coal mining to minimize environmental impact and maximize efficiency.
CMD CCL Nilendu Kumar Singh expressed happiness on receiving this award and reiterated CCL's commitment to achieving excellence in operations as well as adhering to the highest standards of environmental and social responsibility
