Human trafficking will be eradicated, alertness is necessary: ​​Aruna Prakash

 DALSA's awareness program 'Vidhan se  Samadhan' organized in Kanke block

Ranchi: District Legal Services Authority, Ranchi, under the joint aegis of National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi, Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority, Ranchi and National Commission for Women, and under the guidance of Justice Commissioner-cum-Chairman, Dalsa, District Legal Services Authority, Ranchi organized an awareness program 'Vidhan se Samadhan' in Kanke block, Ranchi. The program was inaugurated by Dalsa Secretary Kamlesh Behera, Chief LADSC, Praveen Srivastava, Deputy LADCS, Rajesh Kumar Sinha, Expert Mediator Mrs. Aruna Prakash, Panchayat Sevak of Kanke block and block employees by lighting the lamp.

            The stage was conducted by PLV Vicky Chaudhary. Dalsa Secretary, Kamlesh Behera gave the welcome speech. LADCS Chief Praveen Srivastava, in his address, explained in detail about the law related to women. She informed people about witch-hunting, child trafficking and child marriage. She said that witch-hunting is a superstition, killing or torturing any woman by calling her a witch is a legal offense. Focusing on child marriage, she said that parents should marry their daughters only after 18 years of age, and pay attention to their education. While discussing child trafficking, she said that girls are lured and taken from Jharkhand to other states and forced into prostitution or forced to beg by making them beggars. Along with this, she also explained in detail about labor laws.

              Special mediator Aruna Prakash, while giving information about human trafficking, said that when girls are lured and made victims of human trafficking, the police stations that have been set up to complain about it are called Anti Human Trafficking Unit. These police stations are in Argora, Hatia and Chutia. Mrs. Prakash gave detailed information on the laws related to trafficking. Focusing on witchcraft, he said that labelling anyone as a witch is a crime for which there is a provision of punishment and fine.

            It is worth mentioning that the resource person of the panel discussed the case studies of the National Commission for Women and motivated the women. They were told to always be alert and aware of the law.
