IHM Ranchi organized various competitions on the theme "Tourism and Peace" on World Tourism Day

Ranchi. The Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) Ranchi, under the aegis of the Department of Tourism, Government of Jharkhand, organized World Tourism Day with great enthusiasm on the theme "Tourism and Peace" at Audrey House Ranchi. On this occasion, the chief guest was Tourism Secretary Manoj Kumar and special guests included Director Tourism Ms. Anjali Yadav, Deputy Director Tourism Mr. Rajiv Kumar Singh, Section Officer Gautam Mishra and Principal of IHM Dr. Bhupesh Kumar. Thereafter, a panel discussion was held on the topic "Sustainable sources, authenticity and the role of indigenous ingredients of Jharkhand" in which important conclusions emerged such as presenting the unique cuisine of Jharkhand on the global stage and highlighting the importance of indigenous ingredients, respecting and preserving local resources by using ingredients from sustainable sources to present the diversity of Jharkhand on the global stage will help in bringing local food items and recipes to the global stage, as well as ensuring that these are obtained authentically and sustainably. In this panel discussion, Chef Dr. Chef Parvinder Singh Bali, Dr. Chef Saurabh Sharma, Chef Ashish Bhasin, Chef Gautam Chaudhary, Chef Nitin Shinde were the main speakers. Chef Bali said that a cuisine acts as the identity of a state and the cuisine of Jharkhand state is very different and superior to other places due to its ingredients. Chef Bhasin said that the local cuisine of the state needs to be taken to the international level and work needs to be done to develop the lost cuisines, which is possible with patience and support. Chef Shinde emphasized on running restaurants on local cuisine, the cuisine here contains a lot of beneficial substances which are very beneficial for our health. Chef Saurabh said that the use of mushrooms, khukhri and local millet madua in root vegetables can lead to high level development by using local cuisine at small to large levels. He also said that we are very good but it is not necessary to tell the world otherwise the cuisine here will remain limited to this. Why can't we make Jharkhandi cuisine more presentable so that people will notice and appreciate the food?

                Let people adopt the authentic plating of Jharkhandi food and not change the method because then the presentation of food will become modern and it will eliminate the originality of the culture, Chef Bali said.

             The chief guest inaugurated the Tourist Trade Registration Portal, launched Adventure Tourism Safety Guidelines, released the book Beyond the Forest and unveiled the research journal Palash: A Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Service Management done by IHM Ranchi.

              On the occasion of World Tourism Day, various types of competitions like painting competition, quiz competition, photography competition and chef competition were organized. In the painting competition, Anshu Sharma got first place, Rishika got second place and Manya got third place, Aarabh Singh got first place in quiz competition, Atharva Kumar and Shuvojit got second place and Ameya Devarshi got third place and in chef competition, Mr. Prem Tushar and Satyam Kumar got first place, Jiya Ranjan and Manisha Kujur got second place, MD Abdul and Amit Kumar got third place and Ms. Anisha Kerketta and Mr. Ankit Kumar got consolation prize on the basis of compliance of standards like authenticity, presentation, plating, correct use of ingredients and elements along with main course based on various local dishes of Jharkhand state and showing its infinite possibilities to the world. Tourism Director Ms. Anjali Yadav gave wishes for Tourism Day and made everyone aware of the upcoming festivals and activities in tourism.

           Wishing everyone a Happy World Tourism Day, IHM Principal Dr. Bhupesh Kumar requested everyone to understand the importance of tourism and its social, cultural and economic effects, their responsibilities towards tourism and contribute to making it safe and sustainable. He also told that with this year's theme "Tourism and Sustainability", we have to understand that it is necessary to make tourism sustainable so that our resources can be preserved for the coming generations. We were emphasized to protect natural sites, cultural heritage and local communities.

          On the occasion, Debika Mandal, Assistant Manager, Jharkhand Tourism, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, Dr. Sudarsha Yadav - Professor of Mass Communication Department, Central University of Jharkhand, Dr. Manisha Oraon, Co-Founder, The Open Field Farms and Camptribe Jharkhand and Dr. Bhupesh Kumar, Principal, IHM presented speeches on the topic "Tourism Development and Related Areas".
